The June meeting will be our quarterly software sampler. TC/PC members have selected a group of their favorite software programs or utilities or add-ons that can be of good use to you.
Much of the focus of this meeting will be on PDF software. Jim Grotz will present reviews of PDF995 for converting files to PDF and will also demonstrate the form fill-in features of CutePDF software. Curt Trout will review PDFreDirect, a software program that is proving to be a stiff competitor to CutePDF and PDF995. Jim Grotz will discuss the encryption features of PDFreDirect as well.
Because PDF software is ubiquitous and each person seems to have a favorite there is sure to be a lively discussion on the advantages and disadvantages of different programs.
Also Jack Ungerleider will have copies of the OpenDisc DVD and OpenEducationDisc CD which contain a collection of Open Source software for Windows. Details on what's on the discs at www.theopendisc.com.
